ABOUT ME
My name is Larry Lewis. I am the proud owner of Monument Alley Genealogy Workshop, located north of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. Since 2013, I have been researching my personal family history and building a family tree. Currently, my tree includes over 14,000 individuals, dating back many generations. But by no means have I accomplished this on my own: I utilized many online genealogy services and websites, family members provided stories, photos and documents (including a family tree), and I have been fortunate to collaborate with several cousins. So as you can see, I have stood on the shoulders of others.
My family is originally from Emporium, Pennsylvania. Both of my parents were born there in 1948. Growing up they attended local schools and graduated from Cameron County High School in 1966.
For a short while in the early 70's, I lived outside Emporium, up North Creek, next door to my Grandmother Mary Hornung Lewis. However, we moved to Kansas when I was quite young. I believe moving halfway across the country, so far away from family, is what piqued my interest in genealogy.
This website, and associated Facebook page, have been created for the following reasons. 1) Provide a space to document and share family history. 2) Facilitate collaboration with Family and Friends. 3) Provide a means to repay and assist others of similar interests.
